Spambots & Scammers Alert
Be aware of phishing via email, phone, snail mail and fax (yes even fax!).
Current hot acts in town (all scammers):
FBI Warning about identity theft
- Google saying your listing is broken
- Social Security
- Generic: Your identity has been stolen
- Microsoft Warnings
- Your Grandson is in Trouble/send cash
- Your domain is past due for renewal
- Domain Registry of America (DRA snail mail)
When you receive an email/call/fax from an unknown source – your best course of action is to delete. *You can test: mouse over the sender’s email or any links in the email, if they are not from a trusted site, it is a scammer!!! The email addresses are generally masked, but you can mouse over to see sender. And sometimes they are from hacked email accounts, so do not trust any unsolicited emails! The email may look real, but most are not – be safe – never click any links!
As always, we offer free website evaluations/recommendations.
